5 days tour from Fes to Marrakech through desert

Our journey begins with an early departure from Fes, crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains. We stop in Ifrane, a charming town known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and in Azrou’s cedar forest where you might meet curious Barbary macaques. After lunch in Midelt, we continue through the stunning Ziz Valley, a lush ribbon of green between the desert rocks. By late afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga where you’ll enjoy a warm welcome in your desert hotel at the edge of the dunes.

After breakfast, we dive into the culture and beauty of the desert. Visit the Gnawa musicians in Khamlia, see fossil workshops, and meet nomadic Berber families. In the late afternoon, your camel awaits to take you across the magical Erg Chebbi dunes. Watch the sun set over the sand before arriving at your desert camp. Enjoy a delicious dinner, music by the campfire, and sleep in a tent under a sky full of stars.

Wake up early to catch the first light of the sun rising over the dunes—a moment to remember. After breakfast, we head toward Rissani, a historic town with a lively traditional market. We continue to Erfoud, known for its fossils, then on to the towering Todra Gorges. Take a walk between the dramatic cliffs before continuing along the winding road to the Dades Valley, where you’ll spend the night surrounded by rugged rock formations and peaceful villages.

Today we follow the scenic Route of a Thousand Kasbahs through the Valley of Roses, especially beautiful in spring. We visit local cooperatives and pass through Skoura’s palm groves before arriving in Ouarzazate, Morocco’s film capital. After exploring this desert city, we drive to the ancient ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its earthen architecture. You’ll overnight in a traditional guesthouse overlooking this stunning kasbah.

After breakfast, take time to explore the narrow alleys of Ait Ben Haddou, climbing to the top for panoramic views of the valley. Then we begin our journey across the majestic High Atlas Mountains, passing traditional Berber villages and breathtaking viewpoints along the Tizi n'Tichka pass. By late afternoon, we arrive in Marrakech—where the colors, sounds, and energy of the medina mark the perfect end to your unforgettable Moroccan adventure.
