4 days tour from Fes to Marrakech via Merzouga desert

We depart Fes in the morning, heading south toward the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stops include the alpine-style town of Ifrane and the cedar forest of Azrou, home to wild monkeys. After a scenic drive through mountain landscapes and lunch in Midelt, we descend into the Ziz Valley—an oasis of palm trees framed by rocky cliffs. By evening, we arrive in Merzouga where your camel will be waiting to take you across the dunes to a desert camp. Enjoy a Berber dinner and fall asleep under a sky full of stars.

Today is dedicated to experiencing the magic of the desert. After breakfast, we explore the surrounding areas of Merzouga: visit nomadic Berber families living in traditional tents, stop by the village of Khamlia to enjoy live Gnawa music, and take in the panoramic views near the black volcanic mountains. You’ll return to the camp or a nearby hotel in the afternoon for some rest or optional activities like sandboarding or quad biking. Another peaceful night awaits in the quiet of the dunes.

After a stunning desert sunrise and breakfast, we head to Rissani, known for its authentic market and historical significance. Then, we travel to the spectacular Todra Gorges—massive canyon walls that rise dramatically and are popular among climbers. After a walk in the gorge, we follow the road of a thousand kasbahs through picturesque Berber villages and arrive in the Dades Valley, where you’ll spend the night in a cozy guesthouse nestled among the red rock formations.

After breakfast, we continue our adventure through the Valley of Roses, known for its springtime festival and fragrant products. We’ll reach Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa,” and explore the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village that has starred in countless movies. In the afternoon, we cross the stunning High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass, with incredible panoramic views along the way. We arrive in Marrakech in the evening, where your tour ends with a heart full of memories.
