Itinerary
Your adventure begins by crossing the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Visit the iconic Ait Ben Haddou, Morocco’s most famous kasbah and a UNESCO World Heritage site. After lunch, continue through Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” and enjoy the beauty of the Valley of Roses before arriving in the dramatic Dades Valley. Overnight in a charming guesthouse.
Today we journey toward the heart of the desert. Explore the towering Todra Gorges, a favorite spot for climbers and photographers. Continue toward Erfoud and Rissani, before reaching Merzouga where your camel awaits. Cross the dunes at sunset and arrive at a desert camp for a magical evening of dinner, traditional music, and stargazing in the Sahara.
Wake up early to catch the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, explore the desert surroundings: visit the Gnawa village of Khamlia, meet nomadic families living in the wild, and see an oasis hidden between the dunes. Optionally, you can try sandboarding or quad biking. Return to your camp or desert hotel for a relaxing evening.
We leave the desert behind and head north through the beautiful Ziz Valley, full of palm groves and oases. Pass through Midelt and the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas, home to wild monkeys. Stop in Ifrane, a town known for its clean streets and alpine feel, before arriving in the imperial city of Fes. Overnight in a traditional riad inside the medina.
Dive deep into the spiritual and cultural heart of Morocco with a guided tour of Fes. Visit the oldest university in the world, Al Quaraouiyine, the famous Chouara tanneries, the Medersa Bou Inania, and artisan quarters inside the labyrinth of the medina. Learn about Fes’ history, architecture, and crafts from a local expert. Overnight in Fes.
After breakfast, travel north through the Rif Mountains to reach Chefchaouen, one of Morocco’s most photogenic towns. Known for its blue-painted streets, calm vibe, and mountain views, Chefchaouen is a relaxing contrast to the bigger cities. Enjoy a peaceful walk in the medina, take photos, or relax in a rooftop café. Overnight in a cozy riad.
We continue to Rabat, Morocco’s capital, where you’ll visit landmarks like the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of the Udayas. After lunch, drive along the Atlantic coast to Casablanca. Enjoy an optional sunset visit to the impressive Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest in the world. Dinner and overnight in Casablanca.
Drive down the scenic Atlantic coastline, stopping in El Jadida (a Portuguese-influenced town with a unique sea fort) and Oualidia, known for its oyster farms and serene beach. Arrive in Essaouira by the afternoon — a charming coastal city with a laid-back vibe, bustling port, and artistic soul. Overnight in a riad in the medina.
Spend the morning enjoying Essaouira: walk along its ramparts, visit the souks, or relax at the beach. Later, drive through the region known for argan oil and stop at a women’s cooperative. Return to Marrakech in the late afternoon. Overnight in a riad near Jemaa el-Fnaa square.
Your final day in Morocco is at your leisure. You can take a guided walking tour of Marrakech and discover Bahia Palace, Koutoubia Mosque, Saadian Tombs, and the colorful souks. Or simply relax with a mint tea and take in the energy of the red city. Optional transfer to the airport depending on your travel plan.
