5 days tour from Marrakech to desert of Merzouga

We depart Marrakech in the morning and cross the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n'Tichka pass. Along the way, we stop at panoramic viewpoints before reaching the famous UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a historic fortified village used in many films. After lunch, we continue through Ouarzazate and the Valley of Roses, arriving in the Dades Valley for dinner and overnight in a charming local riad.

After breakfast, we explore the winding roads of Dades Gorges, then head toward the towering Todra Gorges, a favorite spot for hikers and climbers. We continue through palm groves and desert towns like Erfoud and Rissani before reaching Merzouga. Here, you’ll switch to camels and ride across the dunes of Erg Chebbi just in time for a desert sunset. Enjoy a magical night in a luxury or standard desert camp with music, dinner, and stargazing.

Wake up early to catch the sunrise over the dunes, then return to the hotel for breakfast and a shower. Today is dedicated to exploring the desert area: visit nomadic Berber families, explore fossil sites, and enjoy traditional music in Khamlia village, known for its Gnawa musicians. You’ll have time to relax or try a sandboard. Overnight stay in Merzouga (camp or hotel, based on your choice).

After breakfast, we leave the desert and travel through Alnif and the Draa Valley, famous for its endless palm groves and ancient kasbahs. We'll pass through the volcanic mountains of the Anti-Atlas before arriving in Ouarzazate. Enjoy dinner and overnight in a riad or hotel in this quiet gateway to the desert.

On the final day, we head back to Marrakech through the Atlas Mountains, with stops along the way to enjoy the views and take photos. Arrival in Marrakech by the afternoon or early evening, marking the end of a remarkable Moroccan adventure.
